Mehmet Haberoglu: an introduction to your tour guide.
Born in the ancient city of Tarsus on the Mediterranean coast (the home of St. Paul the Apostle), Mehmet traveled throughout Turkey as a young boy with his parents on their business trips. As a result of these early travels, his personality combines the relaxed spirit of the Aegean, the noise of Istanbul, and the generosity of Anatolia. Having discovered the best of Turkey and the Turkish people, Mehmet wishes to share his knowledge with those who are coming to discover this fantastic country.
Mehmet believes that traveling should be about discovering a country through its people. That was the main reason he decided to become a professional tourist guide. Being interested in people and being respectful of cultural differences, Mehmet acts as a cultural intermediary between his guests and the Turkish people. His personal motto is borrowed from the philsopher Emre Yunus, “Come, let’s know each other, to make things easier. Let’s love and be loved, no one is eternal in this world”.
In terms of education and academic experience, Mehmet graduated from the esteemed Cesme School of Tourism and Hotel Management (Faculty of Ege University) and was fully certified as a professional tourist guide. He specialized in the History of Religions and Turkish Cuisine.
Mehmet loves to travel the world and has been privileged to visit a number of European, Arab and Asian countries, including: Albania, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Cyprus, France, FYR Macedonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
He also loves jazz, interior design, and the history of religions. He will gladly talk with guests about their common interests and their mutual appreciation of Turkish culture.
P.S: To avoid any disappointment please email Mehmet in advance of your travels to discuss your tour needs.
